Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose scored a season-high 32 points, but it still wasn’t enough for the team to avoid defeat against the Washington Wizards.
Paul Pierce had 22 points while John Wall scored 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Wizards defeated Chicago for the second time in 10 days.
Bradley Beal added 17 points and he insisted after the game that it is important for them to be able to compete against their direct rivals as they continue to emerge as an elite team.
Rose scored 17 in the first quarter alone and hit a season-high six 3-pointers, but the Bulls were shaky on defense again while Joakim Noah sat out the second half with a sprained ankle. Rose insisted that the team is going through “a little bit of adversity right now” as they now slip to 26-14 for the season while the Wiz improve to 27-12.
