Wade had been suffering with a migraine headache two days ago, but he showed no ill-effects in the win and enjoyed this half-court effort to end the first half.
Chris Bosh added 16 points and 12 rebounds while Goran Dragic scored 18 points. In contrast, the Timberwolves really struggled at times and the Heat starters outscored their rivals 81-29 to pick up the win.
The Heat have been tipped as a certainty to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference this season, as their starting unit undoubtedly makes for impressive reading.
Wade, Bosh, Dragic, Luol Deng and Hassan Whiteside all ended the game in double figures in scoring, and coach Erik Spoelstra will hope that trend can continue as they look to find some consistency.
Miami move on to face the Indiana Pacers on Friday hoping to build on their 3-2 start to the year, while Minnesota take on the Chicago Bulls on Saturday looking to bounce back after falling to 2-2.
