Curry, Thompson and Green amongst others lead the charge…
The Golden State Warriors brushed aside the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday as they extended their impressive winning streak to 15 games.
The Warriors moved to 20-2 for the season as they overcame a difficult road test against the Mavs, with point guard Stephen Curry scoring 29 points in the victory.
Dallas struggled to keep up the pace throughout after falling behind by 21 points in the first quarter and then 28 in the second before getting within seven points in the final minute of the game.
However, it was Golden State who dominated the game for large periods with their potent offense and improved defense, while the biggest roar from the home crowd came when center Tyson Chandler decided to swat Marreese Speights’ wayward shoe as Curry attempted to hand it back to him.
Chandler had 11 points and 12 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the season while Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points, but it wasn’t enough for the hosts who looked second-best throughout as the Warriors continue to lead the way in the Western Conference.
Elsewhere, the Memphis Grizzlies were also victors on Saturday as they move to 19-4 for the season after a win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
However, it didn’t come without a struggle as the hosts forced overtime despite there seemingly being a huge gap in talent between the two teams with the Sixers owning a 2-20 record.
Mike Conley scored 36 points and dished out nine assists which included the tying three-pointer to send the game into OT as the Grizzlies claimed the W.
The Houston Rockets also won on Saturday with Dwight Howard returning to the line-up to help them overcome the Denver Nuggets.
James Harden put up a triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while Howard had a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds in a dominant performance from the Rockets duo.
