Harden scored 34 points in the Rockets’ 100-98 win over the Clippers on Sunday as he continued to show a ruthless ability to get to the free throw line and take over games for his teammates.
However, Barnes had other ideas as he ensured the Rockets guard felt his presence as he proceeded to grab him on a drive to the basket and throw him to the ground.
While the situation could have easily escalated into a full-on brawl in an already heated battle, fortunately the players were immediately split up and things calmed down otherwise there was undoubtedly a risk of things boiling over.
Chris Paul also had a spat with Harden near the end of the game, but the important thing for the visitors was that they left Staples Center with a win and ruined Blake Griffin’s comeback in the process.
Regardless, it might be worth Barnes leaving the WWE moves to the professionals and stick to defending within the laws of the NBA in future otherwise he might be looking at a few more flagrant fouls before the season is over.
