Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Garnett decided to follow in the footsteps of Lance Stephenson on Saturday night as he blew into David West’s ear to get a reaction.
Stephenson famously blew into LeBron James’ ear in the Eastern Conference finals last year to try and get the two-time NBA champion to react.
While James was able to keep his cool and shrug off Stephenson’s tactics, West was unable to keep his emotions in check quite as well as he reacted to Garnett’s antics by pushing him and getting hit with a technical foul.
This isn’t the first time this season that Garnett has tried to under his opponent’s skin as he was caught trying to bite Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah earlier this year.
Garnett insisted that he wasn’t actually trying to bite Noah as if he was intent on doing it, he would have actually done it rather than missed his hand altogether.
However, he got the reaction he wanted on Saturday with West biting on his provocation, and this should be a fun rivalry to watch over the course of the season when they meet again as long as things don’t go too far.
