Draymond Green calls out Dahntay Jones: (Video) Warriors star reacts to bump.
The incident happened after the Warriors’ 106-98 win over the Clippers on Sunday as Green was giving an interview with ABC and Jones walked by and bumped him.
Green broke away from the interview to see who it was and to figure out if it was intentional before continuing with his assessment of the game.
The 25-year-old took a shot at his rival when speaking to reporters later on Sunday night by insisting that Jones obviously wasn’t getting enough camera time on the Clippers bench so wanted to get in on the act.
He added that if he reacted and the pair got suspended, Golden State’s Western Conference rivals “may not even notice” that Jones was gone.
However, Clippers coach Doc Rivers has defended his player while Jones himself insisted that there was nothing in it.
“Wow, that was such a violent bump,” Rivers said sarcastically, according to ESPN.
“It was amazing. I told Dahntay, ‘You have to be careful; that was too hard.’ I guess that tough guy in Golden State, that bump was too hard for him, clearly the way he reacted, my goodness. I thought that guy was tough.”
Jones apologised if he had hurt Green’s feelings as the Clippers continued to laugh the incident off, but it all adds up to adding extra spice to the rivalry that is brewing between the two franchises and it will certainly be interesting if they cross paths in the playoffs.
