During the Brooklyn Nets’ loss to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, it appeared as though Kevin Garnett tried to get his Luis Suarez on and bite Joakim Noah.
The Bulls picked up a 102-84 road win at the Barclays Center in an impressive all-round performance, but Noah was left to laugh at how old rival Garnett attempted to bite him.
“He tried to bite me, man,” Noah said through laughter in the Bulls’ locker room. “That’s crazy, man. It’s unbelievable. Kevin Garnett tried to bite me, man. It’s unbelievable. I don’t even know what to say.”
Garnett had to laugh about it as well and he insisted that he never really intended on sinking his teeth into his rival’s hand and it was merely just playful.
“I know how to bite somebody,” Garnett told reporters in the Nets’ locker room. “Obviously I was messing around in that moment. If I wanted to bite him, I’d have just … shout out to Mike Tyson.”
The pair have a history of run-ins and Garnett even picked up a technical foul in the first half of the game for landing an elbow on Noah. However, despite their rivalry growing over the years, they both revealed that they have respect for each other and will continue to compete as hard as possible each night.
