It took just three quarters for C Marcin Gortat to record over 20 points and a double-double as the Wizards annihilated the Raptors.

The Washington Wizards defeated the Toronto Raptors 125-94 to sweep the series in the First Round of the NBA Playoffs and advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
The Raptors were never even given a chance in the game, and were outscored in each of the first three quarters – and found themselves down an incredible 102-70 after the first three. Forwards Amir Johnson and Terrence Ross were complete non-factors as the pair combined for just seven points even though they received over 25 minutes apiece – with 30 minutes for Ross. But the poor performance of the Raptors’ Forwards was barely a microcosm of their overall ineptitude on offense – 43.9% on FGs and just 7-of-25 on three-point shots. Starting G Kyle Lowry along with Lou Williams and Greivis Vasquez combined to make six of the team’s seven shots, but also combined to miss 12 of them.
The Wizards on the other hand could do no wrong as C Marcin Gortat recorded a double-double in in the first three quarters: 21 points and 11 rebounds. All-Star G John Wall recorded a double-double as well, adding 14 points of his own and 10 assists – some of which were taken by team-leading scorer G Bradley Beal who had 23 points of his own.
Gorat’s huge game for the Wizards included this exciting offensive rebound that he turned into a jumper late in the first half:
Wall was perfect from the free throw line, going 7-of-7 and allowing the Wizards to take an incredible 32-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Though the Raptors were finally able to outscore the Wizards in the fourth quarter, they trailed close to 40-points in the game and could hardly muster an effort in the final minutes of the game.
With the win the Wizards advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals where they will play the winner of the current series between the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets. The Hawks currently lead the series 2-1.
