The Bulls secured a 113-106 win after double overtime with Rose’s final stat line looking like 34 points, eight assists and five rebounds in 48 minutes of action as he produced another impressive display.
Rose has gradually seen his minutes increase over the last week and it appears as though his production is also improving as he continues to lead the Bulls in this series alongside back-court partner Jimmy Butler.
The Bulls guard added 24 points while Pau Gasol posted yet another double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, although it was a real team effort from Chicago to get over the line.
Coach Tom Thibodeau will have been delighted with the way that his side fought back from a huge deficit in the second quarter, but he will be less pleased with how they conspired to throw away a strong lead down the stretch.
However, the Eastern Conference giants eventually got the job done after an extra 10 minutes as they now take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Bucks with Game 4 coming on Saturday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the hosts with 25 points, but it wasn’t enough as Rose took over with some sensational plays throughout the game as he mixed up his ability to attack the basket with his improved efficiency from beyond the arc and showed real emotion in 2OT.
Provided that the Bulls stay healthy, they will be itching to get into the next round where they are likely to face the Cleveland Cavaliers after they also took a 3-0 series lead with a win on Thursday night against the Boston Celtics.
