MVP Stephen Curry led his team with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists on the night along with six steals as they took a 3-2 series lead having been under intense pressure just a week ago after dropping a game on home court.
Meanwhile Marc Gasol had 18 points and 12 rebounds for the visitors as he attempted to slow down the charge, with the Grizzlies center heating up in the third quarter to keep the contest relatively close.
However, the Spaniard didn’t receive the help required around him aside from a fast start from Zach Randolph, and so the Grizzlies return home for Game 6 now looking to avoid elimination.
The Warriors got key contributions off the bench from the likes of Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston which sparked the Oracle into life at times, but perhaps the biggest positive of the night was Klay Thompson returning to form with 21 points including this four-point play in the fourth quarter which ultimately summarised the game.
Golden State got their shots to drop and certainly made the most of the absence of Tony Allen who was sidelined with a hamstring problem, and so the Grizzlies will be hopeful that he can return in time for Friday night where they will hope to keep their season alive.
