The win handed the Warriors a 4-2 series win as they won three straight games to see off their rivals, and they now advance to the WC finals for the first time since 1976.
The play of the game came from MVP point guard Stephen Curry, who scored 32 points with this 62-footer the pick of the bunch from his eight three-pointers on the night.
“In a close-out game like that, that’s a big turning point and the moment’s magnified,” said Curry.
“I made one in college like that. That’s the last I made anywhere past half court and same kind of shot: Loose ball, grab it, throw it up and knock it down.”
Curry also had 10 assists for his first double-double of the season while he had support from Klay Thompson (20 points) and Draymond Green who added 16 points.
While Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 21 points and 15 rebounds, ultimately it wasn’t enough from the hosts to deny their rivals their deserved spot in the Western Conference finals.
Having dominated in the West during the regular season, the Warriors have lived up to expectations in the playoffs so far and will now be looking to take another step towards a championship as they await the winner of the Los Angeles Clippers vs the Houston Rockets series with their Game 7 decider set for Sunday night.
