Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry put on another show on Saturday night as he led his team to a 4-0 series win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Curry scored 39 points in the win over the Pelicans while Klay Thompson added 25 points as the ‘Splash Brothers’ put the finishing touches to an impressive series in which the former averaged 33.8 points per game.
Golden State will now await the winner of the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers series, although it is most likely going to be Memphis after they took a three-game lead with a win on Saturday.
Despite losing point guard Mike Conley to an eye injury in the third quarter, the Griz leaned on Marc Gasol to get them over the line as the Spaniard finished with 25 points and seven rebounds with Portland having no answer to keep themselves in the match-up having lost every game to Memphis this year.
Over in the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets fought back in their clash with the Atlanta Hawks to make it 2-1, with Brook Lopez playing a key role in defeating the No.1 seed at the Barclays Center.
Lopez had 22 points and 13 rebounds while Thaddeus Young added 18 points and 11 rebounds in a key win for the Nets, and they will be full of confidence ahead of Game 4 as they look to extend this series has far as possible.
However, the most dramatic action came in Milwaukee as the Bucks saw Jerryd Bayless lay in a buzzer-beating game-winner over the Chicago Bulls to deny their rivals a series sweep.
The two teams will meet again in Chicago on Monday night with Derrick Rose taking the blame for the loss after disappointing on the offensive end before losing Bayless on the final possession of the game which saw the Bulls lose.
