Boston Celtics star Jae Crowder secured the seventh seed for his team on Tuesday night with his game-winner against the Toronto Raptors.
While the Celtics already knew that they were in the playoffs, they now know that they will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round as they pair up with the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Evan Turner and Avery Bradley each scored 14 points in the win over the Raptors, but it was Crowder who sealed a fifth straight win for Boston who will now look ahead to facing one of the favourites to win a championship this season.
The loss had implications for the Raptors too as they slip to fourth in the East, with the Chicago Bulls moving up to the third seed which means they will likely face the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.
Elsewhere, the Indiana Pacers kept themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot with their double overtime win over the Washington Wizards.
However, their work is not yet done as they must now go to the Memphis Grizzlies and pick up another win on Wednesday night to secure their place in the post-season.
Indiana sit at 38-43 for the year which leaves them in the eighth and final playoff spot heading into the final game of the regular season, and while the Miami Heat are no longer in contention, the Brooklyn Nets can still steal that place away from them.
In the only other game of the night, Chris Paul led the Los Angeles Clippers to a win over the Phoenix Suns with 22 points while Blake Griffin added 20 for the visitors in a comfortable victory.
