The Phoenix Suns put on a show on Saturday night as they picked up a road win over the Houston Rockets with Eric Bledsoe leading the charge.
Bledsoe put up 34 points and eight rebounds for the visitors as they improve to 37-33 for the season, and the timing of such a big win couldn’t have been more perfect as Phoenix needed something spectacular to get them back in the playoff hunt.
The win leaves the Suns two-and-a-half games out of eighth place in the Western Conference with 12 games remaining, and the franchise certainly hasn’t given up hope yet.
Elsewhere, Stephen Curry bounced back from a poor game last time out with 24 points against the Utah Jazz as the Golden State Warriors improved on the best record in the NBA by moving to 56-13.
Coach Steve Kerr will likely look to protect his point guard a little more as we enter the final stretch of the regular season, but Saturday night was certainly a bad sign for their opponents as the MVP candidate returned to shooting form.
Over in the East, the Chicago Bulls fell to a disappointing loss to the Detroit Pistons with Reggie Jackson leading the charge with 22 points.
Pau Gasol responded with 27 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Pistons overcame a 19-point deficit and destroyed Chicago down the stretch.
In Memphis, the Grizzlies sealed a comfortable win over the Portland Trail Blazers with Mike Conley posting 21 points and nine assists.
Damian Lillard responded with 27 points and seven assists, but the Blazers may have bigger problems to worry about with both LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum leaving the game with injuries.
