The Colonials were able to temporarily fight back as they pulled within 10 points in the second half, but the Blue Devils were ultimately too much for them.
The all-time drought for No. 16 seeds in an NCAA Tournament continues as they are now 0-123 against No. 1 seeds.
Guard Quinn Cook and center Jahlil Okafor led the charge for the championship contending Blue Devils, who shot 63 percent from the field.
Cook scored 22 points while adding four rebounds and dishing out five assists. He excelled in the three-point shooting department as he sunk 6-of-10 of his shots.
Okafor added 21 points while shooting 9-for-11 from the field, but he was more quiet than usual in the rebounding department as he only grabbed three.
Forward Justise Winslow and center Marshall Plumlee each picked up the slack as they reached double digits in boards, and Plumlee had the first double-double of his career with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
For the Colonials, guards Rodney Pryor and Marcquise Reed led the team in scoring with 23 and 22 respective points. The rest of the team was unable to come through as only 11 points were scored outside of those two players.
Here are a few video highlights of this noble but unsuccessful effort from Robert Morris.
