The score became even less close as the second half went on, and the Wildcats made many free throws to seal their win.
Wildcats guard T.J. McConnell led the Wildcats with 18 points while adding six rebounds and six assists while guard Gabe York scored 19 points.
This made up for a forgettable performance by forward Stanley Johnson, who was held to four points on 1-for-12 shooting. However, he came up with 10 rebounds while forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson grabbed another 10.
For the Buckeyes, point guard D’Angelo Russell notably struggled as he shot 3-for-19 and was held to seven points, but he dished out six assists while snagging seven rebounds.
Forward Sam Thompson was the best player for the Buckeyes as he scored 18 points.
