The teams traded leads throughout most of the game, but the Badgers pulled away in the latter part of the second half as the majority of Arizona’s starting lineup found themselves in foul trouble.
Forwards Stanley Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson both fouled out, and forward Brandon Ashley and center Kaleb Tarczewski each committed four fouls.
For the Badgers, star forward Frank Kaminsky continued to shine and showcase himself as a future NBA Draft lottery pick with 29 points and six rebounds.
Forward Sam Dekker set a new career high in points just two days after setting one in the Sweet 16 by scoring 27 on 8-of-11 shooting while snagging five boards.
He put the icing on the cake with two clutch three-pointers, which held off the Wildcats when they trailed by five points each time.
For the Wildcats, Hollis-Jefferson and Ashley led the team in scoring with 17 points apiece as Hollis-Jefferson grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
