After the Tar Heels fought back with two three-pointers by guard Marcus Paige, Badgers forward Sam Dekker capped off a career night with a layup that allowed the Badgers to draw intentional fouls and seal the game with free throws.
Dekker was nearly flawless as he shot 10-for-15 to score a career-high 23 points as he grabbed 10 rebounds. Forward Frank Kaminsky added 19 points and eight rebounds as he overcame a slow start.
For the Tar Heels, forwards Brice Johnson and Justin Jackson led the team with 15 points as the team excelled at the three-point line with a 61.5 shooting percentage, but free throws ultimately cost them as they were held to 66.7 percent shooting.
