Carmelo scores career-high 50 points in Knicks win.
With LeBron James and Dwyane Wade sitting out again, the Miami Heat fell to just their fourth home loss all season as the New York Knicks sealed a 102-90 win at the AA Arena.
It might not have made much difference if the duo had been on the court, as Carmelo Anthony was simply unstoppable. The Knicks forward ended the game tying a career-high 50 points as he went 18-for-26 from the field.
Anthony hit 7-of-10 from beyond the arc as the Knicks claimed their third win of the season over the Heat, allowing them to take the series win.
It will give Mike Woodson’s men real confidence heading into the play-offs and a possible clash with Miami further down the line, as his team have now beaten their Eastern Conference rivals by double-digits in all three wins.
The win takes their winning streak to nine, while the Heat’s home record falls to 32-4, as the loss ended their 17-game winning streak at the AA Arena.
Chris Bosh led Miami with 23 points and six rebounds while Mike Miller added 18 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Heat on Carmelo’s night.
