J.R. Smith couldn’t prevent the Knicks from falling to another defeat.
The New York Knicks struggled without their injured duo of Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler as they fell to a 105-90 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
With their two big stars ruled out with knee injuries, J.R. Smith took up the role of primary scorer as he ended the game with 33 points.
However, it wasn’t enough for Mike Woodson as his team continue to struggle, and it will be a worry for the coach as they hit the final stretch of the regular season.
In contrast, the Trail Blazers had three men finish with double-doubles, including Damian Lillard who had 26 points and 10 assists.
A leading contender for the Rookie of the Year award, Lillard led the way for his team, but was ably supported by Nicolas Batum and LaMarcus Aldridge.
