Nuggets seal comfortable 117-94 win over the Knicks.
Carmelo Anthony had a forgettable return to Denver on Wednesday night, as he couldn’t prevent the New York Knicks falling to a 117-94 defeat to the Nuggets.
On his first return to the Pepsi Center since his switch to New York two years ago, Anthony finished with just 9 points in what was perhaps one of his worst performances of the season.
Iman Shumpert led the way with 20 points, while J.R. Smith had 15, but it wasn’t enough as the Knicks also lost Tyson Chandler to a knee injury in the first half.
It has been a troubled period for Mike Woodson, as he has seen the Knicks’ early season form vanish as they have stumbled their way through the last month or so.
Doubts have now been cast over their play-off ambitions and they will undoubtedly need Anthony to return to top form if they are to maintain their current Eastern Conference seeding.
