The match was mostly quiet as each team scored just one goal, but both teams made their sole goals of the game count as they both provided plenty of entertainment.
West Brom took the lead 32 minutes in as forward Victor Anichebe scored on a header.
Newcastle fought back with a spectacular goal of their own as midfielder Ayoze Pérez received the ball in a set piece situation.
He proceeded to take on a load of West Brom defenders and kick the ball past them for a goal, which was scored 41 minutes in.
The rest of the game did not provide any noteworthy moments, and there were no red cards thrown out even though there were five yellow ones given.
Newcastle moved up to 16th place in the Premier League standings with their draw, and West Brom remains in 13th place.
Newcastle is only one point ahead of Leicester City and Hull City, and they will look to ensure their safety in their final two matches against QPR and West Ham.
Meanwhile, West Brom will have a challenging end to the season ahead of them after extending their unbeaten streak to four games, as they will take on Chelsea and Arsenal.
