The Jacks were scoreless for most of the first half while the Magpies took a 1-0 lead on a goal by forward Ayoze Perez 20 minutes in after midfielder Emmanuel Riviere found a wide opening for the assist.
The game remained quiet for the rest of the first half until a brutal collision occurred between Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat and Swansea City midfielder Jefferson Montero.
They were both immediately checked on as Janmaat was seen reaching inside his mouth, which implied that he had a tooth knocked out.
The Jacks eventually took advantage of stoppage time, which was supposed to go for two minutes but went for three.
Slightly over 47 minutes into the match, Swansea City midfielder Nelson Oliveira scored a goal after lining up perfectly for a corner kick.
Not long after the goal was scored, the referees blew the halftime whistle.
The second half was much more lively as Jacks midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a goal 49 minutes in to give his team the lead.
71 minutes in, Magpies goalie Tim Krul was duped once again as he allowed the Jacks’ third goal of the game to midfielder Jack Cork.
However, the Magpies showed signs of life toward the end of the second half as midfielder Siem De Jong made the most of his substitution and scored his first goal of the 2014-15 Premier League season.
Newcastle United was unable to keep their rally going though as the Jacks held them off for a 3-2 victory. The Magpies are in 14th place, but they have a chance to rise to 13th as they are two points behind West Brom.
