Notre Dame tight end heads class of position and is a lock for the first round.
Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert has long been considered a top NFL prospect due to his size and quickness at the position.
Standing at six foot six and 250 pounds, Eifert has the ability to completely outmatch any linebacker or nickel back that will be lined up against him on passing plays. His quickness and smooth route running will make him a valuable target in a high potent passing attack for years to come.
In his senior year, the 22-year old had 50 receptions for 685 yards and four touchdowns, impressive stats for a player who was part of a option offence at Notre Dame.
Despite being highly touted as a first round pick on Thursday, his position within the round has fluctuated among mock drafts. Some predict him going as high as Miami at number 12, or as low as Atlanta at 30.
He will go somewhere in between there, with another possibility of ending up with Cincinnati at 21. Wherever he ends up, he will be a productive starter from day one.
