Kangaroos thump Bombers as strain of ASADA investigation begins to take its toll.
A red-hot North Melbourne Kangaroos side has handed out an AFL lesson to the Essendon Bombers, beating them by 45 points at Etihad Stadium.
After looking nearly unbeatable and a good chance of finishing in the top four this season, the Dons’ stocks have taken a massive hit in the past month.
In that time they have lost all four games with their 17.13 (115) to 9.16 (70) thumping being the closest of all of the games.
North were best served by Daniel Wells and Drew Petrie who kicked seven goal between then to continue the Bombers slide down the AFL ladder in the shadows of the finals.
The Kangaroos are now in 10th despite not having anything to ply for this season other than pride, however, performances such as the one against Essendon will have their fans wondering how they cannot become a bigger force in the competition.
Essendon will have two tough tests in the final fortnight of the regular season as they take on Carlton and Richmond.
