Former NSW fullback and Canberra Raider dumped.
Disgraced Canberra Raiders fullback Josh Dugan has been sacked by the club following a drinking incident earlier this week.
Chief Executive Don Furner announced the dismissal following a meeting with the club board.
The former NSW’s fullback is following in ex-teammate Todd Carney’s footsteps after missing a recovery training session for the Raiders on the weekend. Carney was the last player to be removed from the Raiders after off-field incidents.
It was discovered that Dugan had skipped the recovery session in favour of a drinking session with teammate Blake Ferguson. Missing the session and drinking while injured both violated the clubs code and practices.
As the latest off-field incident for the troubled star Canberra terminated Dugans contract worth a reported $650,000 a year.
