New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. will be the face of Madden NFL 16 in the popular video game franchise for XBox and Playstation when it is released to consoles in August.
ESPN held an online vote for fans to choose between Beckham, Patriots All-Pro TE Rob Gronkowski, Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson and Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown to determine who would be on the cover of the popular video game franchise. Peterson and Brown were eliminated early, which made the final vote between Beckham and Gronkowski.
After extensive discussion about why they deserved to be on the cover, ESPN finally made the big reveal:
Beckham won with over 52% of the online vote and it was easy to see why: His now-legendary catch against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in October helped establish him as one of the most incredible athletes in the game since Randy Moss, and he finished the season with 1,305 receiving yards, 12 TDs, 91 receptions, and a league-leading 108.8 yards/game in only 12 games played, earning a Pro Bowl berth in the process.
But of course, his epic catch against the Dallas Cowboys stands out more than anything else he accomplished en route to Offensive Rookie of the Year honors:
