Senators’ defenceman left laying face down on the ice after taking vicious right hook Wednesday night.
In the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 5-4 victory over the Ottawa Senators Wednesday night, they did more than just beat them on the scoreboard.
The game had only been going for 20 seconds when Dave Dziurzynski of Ottawa and Frazer McLaren of Toronto dropped their gloves and started to fight.
The players were clearly intending to fight before the game even started, as this is one of the fiercest rivalries in the league, and both teams wanted to show their dominance early.
It was McLaren who came out on top, sending Dziurzynski to the ice and out-cold on his front. It was a clear message by the Maple Leafs that they were here to play, as they backed up this early fight by securing the win.
