Despite being crippled by injuries, the Senators found a way to win on Tuesday.
Four goals in the final 20 minutes from the Ottawa Senators helped seal a stunning third period comeback to beat the New York Islanders 5-3 at Nassau Coliseum.
Injuries have been a constant problem for the Senators, and it appears they may have lost another player for the foreseeable future, after Marc Methot left the game after less than nine minutes on the ice with a lower body issue.
However, coach Paul MacLean will be delighted by the commitment shown by his players as they continue to find a way despite the ever-growing absentee list.
In contrast, it will be a tough game to recover from for the Islanders, as they lose ground in the play-off dog fight in the Eastern Conference.
Having looked to be in a commanding position entering the closing stages of the game, their reaction to such a disappointment will now be vital moving forward.
They remain in 10th place in the East, and will have to address the issue of late goals having now conceded an NHL-high 44 goals in the third period of games.
