Parramatta Eels forward Pauli Pauli looks set to avoid an NRL suspension for his late hit on Penrith Panthers star Jamie Soward.

The late shot from Pauli forced Soward from the field during the Eels’ six-point win over the Panthers on the weekend.
Pauli was hit with a grade one dangerous contact charge, but due to his good record the five-eighth will avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.
The 20-year-old has been slated for the hit, with rugby league great Andrew Johns calling it a “cheap shot”.
In other NRL judiciary news, Gold Coast Titans forward Ryan James will also avoid suspension after he took the early guilty plea after he was charged with grade one dangerous contact for his heavy hit that knocked out South Sydney Rabbitohs star Greg Inglis.
