The Bombers’ new recruit does manage to escape punishment for another incident last game.
Essendon veteran Paul Chapman’s hit on Jack Redden wasn’t deemed forceful enough to warrant a suspension, however, he couldn’t avoid a ban for his errant elbow to the chin of Tom Rockliff.
Chapman was just one of several names to get the attention of the AFL’s match review panel, with Liam Jones, Jarryd Roughead and Mark LaCras all set to spend this coming weekend on the sidelines for various incidents.
Jones was banned for two weeks after his bump on Melbourne’s Dean Terlich. Roughead and LeCras can accept one-week bans for hits on Sydney’s Ben McGlynn and Giants youngster Will Hoskin-Elliott respectively.
