Roy Halladay pitched his first win in close affair for Phillies.
On the back of eight strong innings from pitcher Roy Halladay, the Philadelphia Phillies were able to beat Miami on the road in a game that was closer than many people thought.
With the game tied at 1-1 at the bottom of the eighth, Phillies pinch hitter Laynce Nix hit a home run out of right field to give the Phillies a much needed win, as they look to move on from a very inconsistent start.
This was also Halladay’s 200th career win as a starting pitcher, and with the pressure of that milestone off his shoulders, the eight time All-Star will be looking to return to that form soon if the team want to make a run at the playoffs.
