Mavericks ruled out of play-off contention after Wednesday’s loss.
The Dallas Mavericks are out of play-off contention following their 102-92 loss to the Phoenix Suns at the AA Center on Wednesday.
The Suns ended a 10-game losing streak, as well as a six-year drought in Dallas with Goran Dragic posting up 21 points and 13 assists.
Luis Scola added 11 points and 15 rebounds while P.J. Tucker had 17 points and 10 boards to secure Phoenix’s first win in Dallas since March 2007.
For the Mavericks, their faint play-off hopes relied on winning all of their last four games and the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz losing all of their remaining games in order to snatch eighth spot in the Western Conference.
The Lakers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, ensuring that Dallas miss out on the play-offs for the first time since 2000.
