Penguins late rally seals the win over Boston on Tuesday night.
A third period comeback ensured the Pittsburgh Penguins secured a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.
Trailing by two after the first, both sides were unable to get on the scoreboard in the second as the Bruins looked to be comfortable.
However, in the final seven minutes of the game, Pittsburgh hit three goals with Brandon Sutter scoring to both tie and then give his team the lead.
His second of the night was Sutter’s eighth goal of the season, and it helped to extend the Penguins winning streak to a season-high six games, the longest current run in the NHL.
They have now also won five in a row at home, and have scored at least three goals in their last 14 games. Victory on Tuesday lifts Pittsburgh to 19-8-0 for the season, while Boston fall to 17-4-3.
