After spending last year with Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh re-sign player they drafted in 2007.
After being cut by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday due to salary cap reasons, the Pittsburgh Steelers were quick to re-sign their former cornerback.
While the details of the contract have not been disclosed, it will be likely to be around a three-year deal, which could be a good deal for both teams.
Gay is a very good cover cornerback and will be a great acquisition for the Steelers backfield. He will be a able to go in and cover the number one receiver and has the ability to shut them down. The Steelers are aging on defence rapidly, and young blood is needed badly, especially within the secondary.
This signing will allow to use a draft pick looking at a different position in the draft, as cornerback was a clear need for the team.
The one thing that the Steelers will be hoping for is that William Gay does not come into contact with Adrain Peterson: as the video below shows, it won’t end well.
