Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is looking forward to captaining Mumbai Indians for the first time.
Ahead of Mumbai Indians’ first IPL clash of 2013 with Royal Challengers Bangalore, captain Ricky Ponting has expressed his excitement at leading out his new side.
Mumbai bought Ponting in the IPL auction in February and subsequently made the Australian their skipper – ahead of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar.
The 38-year-old’s first issue for his new team is facing RCB without expert Twenty20 bowler Lasith Malinga, who misses the first fixture through injury.
