Power overcome massive last quarter margin to beat Eagles in a thriller.
Port Adelaide has kept its unblemished AFL record intact after storming home to beat the West Coast Eagles in one of the games of the season
Down by 41 points midway through the third term, Port were sparked into action in the 20th minute of the quarter thanks to a goal by Chad Wingard.
While Wingard finished off the goal, it was the run and carry by Jake Neade that set it up as the Power won 12.12 (84) to 10.19 (79).
The loss is now West Coast’s fifth of the season, which in in stark contrast for a side many considered to one of the main contenders for the flag this year.
Conversely, Port Adelaide find themselves in second place after five rounds, behind the only other undefeated side in the competition Geelong.
Wingard, Angus Monfries, captain Travis Boak and Hamish Hartlett each kicked two goals in the burst as West Coast struggled with just three players on the bench after the early substitution of Matt Priddis (concussion).
Rubbing salt in the wounds for the Eagles is the report on Darren Glass for his late hit on Paul Stewart in the second quarter.
