Ryan Johnson and Darlington Nagbe scored for the hosts.
Portland Timbers kept themselves in the playoff positions with a 2-1 win over FC Dallas. Will Johnson’s powerful header and Darlington Nagbe’s solid finish cancelled out Mauro Diaz’s first goal for his new club, to put Portland Timbers third in the Western Conference. Although they now sit eighth in the league, Dallas are by no means out of the running for a playoff position, they remain on 33 points, 3 behind fifth placed Vancouver Whitecaps.
