Obama in good form as he jokes with Sherman amongst others…
In keeping with tradition, President Barack Obama invited the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks team to the White House on Wednesday.
After defeating the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game and dominating the Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos, the Seahawks were able to take back the first Super Bowl to the city of Seattle.
Backed by their raucous ’12th man’ throughout the season, it was a day of celebration as the team and coaching staff were invited to the White House by the President.
Obama was in good form as he joked with cornerback Richard Sherman as well as other members of the team, but emphasised the recognition that the entire organisation deserves for their efforts both on and off the field.
Coach Pete Carroll was also invited up to the podium to say a few words before the President took pictures with the team and their iconic ’12’ flag.
