England’s Matt Prior scored 82 as his side dominated NZ in the second Test at Wellington.
Wicket-keeper batsman Prior led a attacking charge at the lower end of England’s order, contributing 82 runs off 99 balls against New Zealand.
The visitors built on their overnight total of 267-2 with Kevin Pietersen also reaching his half-century with 73.
After finishing 465 all-out, England then reduced the Kiwis to 66-3 at close of play on day two, meaning the hosts are still 200 runs short of avoiding the follow-on.
