The free-scoring Argentina international injured his hamstring playing against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night, while his compatriot, centre-back Javier Mascherano, will also be absent against the strugglers after suffering a knee injury in the French capital.
Assistant Barca head coach Jordi Roura said it would be the club doctor rather than Messi who decided exactly when the attacker would be able to return to first-team action.
