New England Patriots star says sorry for his racist remarks.
New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski has made headlines again for the wrong reasons after a video of him apparently making racist comments to an Asian fan went viral.
Gronkowski, along with the rest of the Patriots were on a bye week, when he was caught on tape mocking the fan wearing his number 87 jersey.
“They told me he could only cook fried rice,” Gronkowski said into a microphone at the club. He then called the man “Leslie Chow,” the Asian character played by Ken Jeong in “The Hangover” movies.
After asked about the video, the New England player apologised for any offence caused by the fan or any other NFl supporters of Asian decent.
“I feel bad, personally. I feel bad,” Gronkowski said during his first media availability since the video was posted. “I talked to [the fan], and he assured me that he took no offense in any way. I know others did, and I apologize to those who took offense.”
