Washington Redskins QB will not play unless 100%, despite recent Adidas commercial that says otherwise.
When RGIII went down with an ACL tear during the NFL Playoffs in January, every Redskins fan hoped he would be ready to start the season as their Quarterback.
This week however the 23 year-old tweeted stating that he will not play, and risk compromising his career. This is without doubt the smartest move to make, as the former Heisman Trophy winner has a very bright future in the league. Running the risk of aggravating a knee injury could only lessen his impact on the game, cut short his career.
What doesn’t make sense it that in a recent advert (see below), it sends a message that he will play week one, regardless of his condition.
It is clear that either the release of the tweet or the advert was poorly timed, and that he makes the smart decision of fully rehabbing the knee before returning under centre for the young team.
