Dutchman’s treble was enough to see off Paul Lambert’s strugglers.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed front man Robin van Persie’s wonder goal against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Monday night as one of the goals of the century.
The Netherlands international netted a sensational first-half hat-trick against the relegation-threatened Midlands outfit at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils’ 3-0 win clinching a record 20th top-flight title, and 13th Premier League crown, for the English giants.
However, it was van Persie’s second goal, a first-time volley from a sublime Wayne Rooney pass that may very well end up winning goal of the season.
