Former Lyon ace set to lead new-look Roma side under Garcia.
Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has continued his impressive pre-season performances by scoring two superb goals in the 4-1 win over Toronto FC.
The Bosnian international was contemplating his future in the Italian capital at the start of the summer, but has been given a new lease of life under new boss Rudi Garcia.
The French tactician has promised the 23-year-old a significant role at the club moving forward, amid speculation that Tottenham had been interested in signing the Bosnian international.
Nevertheless, it appears as though all is well in Rome with Pjanic scoring twice in a comfortable 4-1 win over Toronto FC on Wednesday.
Having curled in a beautiful free-kick to make it 3-1, he then added a fourth after intercepting a Toronto defender before rounding the goalkeeper and cheekily back-heeling the ball into the back of an empty net.
The Giallorossi have looked impressive in pre-season thus far, and with Pjanic, Kevin Strootman and Daniele De Rossi expected to lead the way in midfield, they will be a dangerous outfit in Serie A this season.
Combined with the fact that they have no European football distractions this year, they will be doubly focused on improving in the league, while the Coppa Italia will certainly be on their list of objectives too having missed out to bitter city rivals Lazio in the final last season.
