Yet more problems for the troubled Brazilian capital ahead of the 2016 Summer Games.
Officials in Rio de Janeiro have been forced to explain just why they have had to close the Joao Havelange Stadium, which is due to host the athletics events at the 2016 Olympic Games, but not the opening and closing ceremonies however.
The stadium, which was only completed less than six years ago, has been temporarily closed due to safety fears over the roof and will not be reopened until all the repairs have been finished.
