Wayne Rooney was back in action for Manchester United’s U21s on Monday night.
Club captain Rooney, who has missed United’s last 12 first-team games with a knee injury, played 61 minutes at Old Trafford as the Red Devils beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in the U21 Premier League.
Rooney registered just three shots during his comeback appearance. One was on target, but straight at the goalkeeper from long range, while this free-kick attempt was his best effort.
