The 6th leading scorer in the Premier League last year, Saido Berahino vowed last month to never play for WBA again.
If anyone had any questions about Saido Berahino’s desire to play for West Bromwich Albion, they certainly won’t have any questions about his football savvy after he started off his return to the club’s XI with a bang.
At the 39′ mark, Berahino – making his return to the starting XI after previously stating he would never play for the club again – made a beautifully deflected shot off James Morrison that zipped right past Aston Villa GK Brad Guzan to break the nil-draw and give WBA the early lead.
Berahino was lobbying for a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur over the summer, but when the deadline came his club refused to sell.
The WBA scoring genius was the 6th leading Premier League scorer in 2014-15, scoring more goals than the likes of Christian Benteke, Wayne Rooney and David Silva.
