The young England international picked up the ball just shy of the 18-yard box and, given time and space by the Blues defence, unleashed a delicious, first-time curling strike that beat Thibaut Courtois and nestled in the back of the Chelsea net.
It’s an unexpected opener from the Baggies, but one from a player who we’ve come to expect this kind of skill after a wonderful season in front of goal for Tony Pulis’ side. This was his 19th goal of the season, 13 of those coming in the league.
Berahino’s fine form has seen Manchester United take an interest in signing him, according to the Metro.
Mourinho will want his side to respond quickly as a win tonight will see Chelsea manage their 26th win of a dominant season and mean they are still able to reach the impressive 90-point mark – a feat not achieved in almost six seasons, with Man United the last side to acquire such a dominant total in 2008/09.
For Mourinho it would be the third time, along with his third league title in England, that he has accrued so many points with the Blues.
