The former Man of Steel helped deliver Salford’s first win of the season.
Salford’s Rangi Chase may not have scored a try during the Red Devils’ narrow 32-28 victory over Hull FC, but his wizardry meant that the 2011 Man of Steel stole all the headlines.
The 28-year-old was instrumental in the victory, and staked a claim for one of the greatest assists of all time in either code, when he played in Josh Griffin, who went over in the corner with fifteen minutes left on the clock. But that doesn’t begin to sum up the skill involved.
The former England international collects the ball near the centre of the pitch, before dummying a pass which seems to trick everyone, including his own team-mate – more importantly taking two Hull players out of the equation. He then plays the most ridiculous pass around his back, to leave Griffin with a simple run to the line.
